Nikolaus Nitzsche undertook his first musical training as part of Dresden's Kreuzchor boys' choir. He was giving solo appearances even then, including as the third boy (The Magic Flute) at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin. He studied singing at the Dresden College of Music and also completed Masters courses under the likes of Rudolph Piernay, Lucas Meachem and Claar ter Horst. In 2017, Nikolaus Nitzsche was one of the scholarship-winners of the Deutschlandstipendium, and in 2018 was awarded a scholarship from the Richard-Wagner Verband Dresden. He simultaneously collaborated on productions by the Dresden College of Music (Merlins Insel) (Merlin's Island), Treemonisha, Das schlaue Füchslein ) (The Cunning Little Vixen). At the Mittelsächsisches Theater, he sang the role of Süffle / Schneck (Der Vogelhändler) (The Bird Seller), Cascada (The Merry Widow) and Alcindoro (La Bohème). Meanwhile, at the Felsenbühne Rathen in 2016, he was Papageno (The Magic Flute) and at the Szene12 Dresden, he was Marcello (La Bohème). He did guest performances at the German National Theatre in Weimar as Maximilian in Candide in 2017/18. He rejoined the Dresden State Operetta's company in the 2018/19 season.
